Technical Sales Account Manager

As the Technical Sales Account Manager, you serve as the primary point of contact for all products and manage customer requests, quotes and inquiries. You are responsible for providing a high level of service and technical support to surpass internal and external customer expectations while working in a comprehensive team selling environment. Position Responsibilities

  • Direct and first point of contact with external customers as it relates to the sale of our entire product line across various industries.
  • Interacts with existing and potential customer via telephone, e-mail or in person to qualify sales leads and sell products and services.
  • Creates and presents quotations to customers emphasizing value-add features and explaining the benefits of selecting our product.
  • Follow-up with customers on quotations to help obtain orders, discuss objections that may prevent the placement of orders, and offer alternate options if needed.
  • Proactively compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads and tenaciously follows up with these sales leads to generate sales.
  • Review purchase orders for proper model number, quantity, pricing, customer request date, terms and coordinate special review with engineering or operations as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding monthly/quarterly sales targets and goals.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of all products, processes and policies to support and exceed customer requirements.
  • Develops an understanding of the customer base, market and individual customer needs while building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers to win the business.
  • Provides product demos to qualified customers on request.
  • Works with other sales team members to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Completes customer visits as needed and approved to build relationships and secure additional business.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in manufacturing, industrial or engineering sales.
  • Preferred Bachelors or Associates degree in a technical discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization providing courteous, timely and accurate information.
  • Preferred to have analytical competencies and technical aptitude with respect to refrigeration, control engineering and fluid dynamics.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Time management and organization skills are required with the ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize situations requiring urgent attention is critical.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Continuous Improvement mindset and a focus on Quality.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Engineering to design, develop, and maintain complex assemblies, component models, and detailed component drawings in SolidWorks for the production of custom and standard industrial process cooling and heating equipment.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation using standard engineering practices.
  • Build and maintain bill of materials structures for both standard product and custom job releases within the business ERP software.
  • Provide shop support for the development of new products, building of customer units, and product maintenance.
  • Interface directly with vendors to find solutions, create specification drawings, and ensure that purchased components meet expectations regarding performance, quality, and appearance.
  • Respond to and implement continuous cost reduction and product improvements through the ECRN process.
  • Provide support for the Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sales departments.

Candidate Requirements

  • BS or Associate degree in design or engineering with 0 to 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with computers and ERP Business software, Epicor 10 preferred.
  • Proficient with Solid Works (or similar 3D modeling software) and AutoCAD (or similar 2D software).
  • Experience in developing detailed 2D and 3D designs of complex parts, assemblies, and schematics.
  • Experience in the design of industrial equipment.
  • Experience with the design of piping, sheet metal, weldments, and assemblies.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills using the English language.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States.
