Technical Service Manager

Delta T Systems is looking for a Technical Service Manager who either has been successful in this role or for the experienced service technician who is ready for the next career move. The position will report directly to the President/Owner of the company. The Service Manager is the first point of contact for our customers for all technical inquiries. Responsibilities Include

  • Develop a network of third-party contractors across the US.
  • Create a factory training program for internal and external technicians.
  • Responsible for the replacement parts business.
  • Responsible for on-site start up for new installations.

Detailed Job Duties

  • Daily communication with our customers providing solutions for technical inquiries.
  • Document all service cases, maintain service record(s) and develop a plan to resolve the case (Case Management).
  • Evaluate warranty claims.
  • Work with suppliers and customers to rectify RMA’s and RGA’s
  • Cooperate with sales to maintain a positive customer experience.
  • Consult with engineering on complex troubleshooting and site installations.
  • Diagnose service issues remotely and work with our customers to develop resolutions.
  • Provide feedback/suggestions to Operations and Engineering regarding design and quality issues
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

A successful candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years in a maintenance/service environment with the following skills/experience:

  • 2-year technical degree.
  • Experience in refrigeration is essential.
  • Front-end customer experience.
  • Understanding of fluid and thermal dynamics is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical wire diagrams, blueprints, and general schematics.
  • Experience with various PID controllers is useful.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organized, self-motivated individual able to work independently.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • No relocation reimbursement available.

Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm

Travel requirements 0 – 20%.

Detailed Job Duties

  • Prepare items for shipment which includes selecting of shipping container, pack items to ensure safe delivery and preparing associated paperwork and labels.
  • Build crates or proper shipping containers for units and label them properly. Load crated merchandise onto/into trucks.
  • Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
  • Inspect shipments for damage or defects.
  • Maintain an organized inventory and a clean, safe work environment.
  • Responsible for the disposal of packaging materials, cardboard and garbage.
  • Perform general assembly duties and various shop related tasks as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic shop math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, read a ruler.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate forklift and manual dexterity to operate various hand and power tools.

Position Responsibilities

  • Direct and first point of contact with external customers as it relates to the sale of our entire product line across various industries.
  • Interacts with existing and potential customer via telephone, e-mail or in person to qualify sales leads and sell products and services.
  • Creates and presents quotations to customers emphasizing value-add features and explaining the benefits of selecting our product.

  • Ability to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Time management and organization skills are required with the ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize situations requiring urgent attention is critical.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
