Adhesive & Resin Temperature Control

process temperature control equipment adhesive & resin production

Delta T Systems temperature control equipment and industrial process chillers are commonly used to control heat transfer during industrial adhesive and resin production and finishing processes. Our equipment is designed and tested for a broad cross-section of applications that can require temperatures ranging from 20°F to 650°F. Consistent, high precision temperature control is critical because it enables manufacturers to produce higher quality materials.

Jacketed Vessel Precision Temperature Control

Adhesives and many types of resins are commonly produced by mixing various raw materials in jacketed vessels. A jacketed vessel’s temperature is typically controlled with a hot oil system. Many plastic resin manufacturers take that a step further and mix their resins with additives, sending the mix through an extruder where the temperature is also controlled with a hot oil unit. The extruded product is then cooled down for final processing and packaging.

Roller Application of Resins and Adhesives

Most often, this application method manages process temperature with the use of chill and heat transfer rolls. A wide range of cooling and heating set points may be required by the individual coating processes used to apply an adhesive or resin to a target substrate. Our fully programmable temperature control units and process chillers can control temperatures to within ± 0.5°F of required process set points.

Chill Rolls

Chill rolls are commonly used in processes where temperature control is critical to product quality or product safety. The coolant flow rate determines the ability of a roll to remove the required heat and temperature variation across a roll face. Sufficient flow must occur for proper cooling.

We offer a variety of highly efficient, variable speed chillers to maintain exact temperature control and flow in conjunction with chill rolls. Our industrial process chillers are available as portable units (1-30 tons), as large-capacity packaged chillers (40, 50, or 60 tons), or as modular chillers for applications over 60 tons.

Heat Transfer Rolls

Adhesives and coatings are often applied to flat rolled goods, and nearly all techniques use a hot adhesive application technique. If a hot adhesive process is not used, a heat transfer roll is often still used to heat the coated stock – preeminent in the textile sector.

Delta T Systems has been manufacturing temperature control units and process chillers for 30 years. Our team of knowledgeable engineers can help with temperature control solutions for any adhesive or resin process. Our insightful sales and support staff are available to assist with application questions, as well as standard and custom product specifications that ensure successful installation, operation, and maintenance.

Our systems can easily be customized and used to control the temperature of any jacketed vessel, chill roll, heat roll or any other application. To discuss your particular temperature control needs and goals with our experts, request a quote or contact us today!
