What do I need to hook my unit up?
Our units are “plug and play”. Simply hook up your water source (water tower, city, or chiller) and a proper electrical source (3/60/230, 3/60/460, 3/60/575). Then be sure to check that the pump is running in the correct rotation.
How long should I vent my water system for?
The time will vary depending on the size of your process. Typically you should watch the discharge pressure gauge while venting and when the gauge is steady the system should be vented of most air. If you have the “auto vent” option, your unit will vent for approx. 3 minutes.
My water unit doesn’t heat up but the heat light is lit on the panel?
There may be dirt stuck in the drain solenoid valve, remove the dirt. If the problem persists, you will need to check that the heaters are pulling the correct amp draw which can be found on the serial tag. If problem persists, please call us.
How long will the seals last?
Depending on the quality of the water being supplied to the system, the hours ran per day, the temperature the unit is ran at, and if the unit is cooled down before shut off. Based on a 40 hour work week, seals typically last one year.
My water unit shuts down every time the unit calls for cooling. What can cause this?
This is typically caused by either low water pressure to the unit or low flow rate to the unit. You can increase the incoming pressure or restrict drain to increase pressure.
How long should I vent my oil unit for?
The time will vary depending on the size of your process. Follow the unit instructions included in the manual. You can also watch the discharge pressure gauge while venting, and when the gauge is steady the system should be vented of air.
What if my unit heats up, but my process is remaining cool?
First make sure there are no closed valves on any lines or process. Then check that the Fulflo valve is not stuck wide open.
What heat transfer fluid should I use and how often should I change it?
We recommend Paratherm NF as a heat transfer fluid in our units. Click here to buy Paratherm NF.
The length of use can vary greatly depending on various factors including: temperature of the process, hours of operation per day, proper cool down and shut down techniques, etc.
Why won’t my chiller restart after I preformed maintenance on it?
Check to be sure all the panels are back in place, then turn the power back on. There is also a timer on the compressor that may need to time out.
What could happen if a chiller is undersized?
If a chiller is undersized, the compressor will run continuously and never achieve the desired set temperature.
Always refer to your manual that is included with each unit or feel free to give us a call!
